Hibu Helps: Alex’s Lemonade Stand 2018
Fighting childhood cancer, one cup at a time
Hibu employees at our King of Prussia, PA office combined fun and fundraising to help raise money for Alex’s Lemonade Stand. The Foundation’s mission is to change the lives of children with cancer through research, raising awareness, supporting families, and empowering everyone to help cure childhood cancer.
Alexandra “Alex” Scott was diagnosed with childhood cancer, shortly before her first birthday. Three years later, while receiving treatment, Alex told her mother, “When I get out of the hospital I want to have a lemonade stand… to help other kids, like they helped me.” True to her word, she held her first lemonade stand later that year and raised an amazing $2,000. When Alex passed away at the age of eight, her lemonade stands and those she inspired had raised more than $1 million to help find a cure for the disease that took her life.
At Hibu, we’re proud to help Alex’s family and supporters, continuing her inspiring legacy. Jessica Duffy, one of many volunteers on our Employee Activities Committee, reports that we raised over $750 – in just a couple hours at lunch.
